Hello all who actually care what I think!
It's been a while since the last update, no reason for the delay. Things have been good and hopefully you can say the same for yourself. I've been listening to our new record a lot and I'm so excited about getting it out so people can hear it. I have a ton of confidence in what we have recorded and how it sounds. I'm also planning on doing some of my own music this summer as we are not booking much. It's not going to be a big deal, just a four track and some annoying ideas that don't work for the band. A non musical note now: three months and I'll be a dad. This is insane and it still baffles me that I am going to be a parent. I don't think that i can put it into words and I won't try, but i will say that I am both excited and scared about this(a common feeling for any first time parent i'm sure) So that's all for me now

This update was made while listening to Rush's "Moving Pictures" and "Signals" two of my favorite records

Well anyway here is some info about me…

Age: 24
Instrument: Bass…I love playing bass….I picked up the instrument very quickly. Yes, it’s a fairly easy instrument to learn but I have always felt more creative with this instrument.
Marital status: A lot of you know that I am married to the drummer Angie, it’ll be four years next May. It’s really cool to play in the band with Angie, she’s a very good drummer and deserves a ton of respect for being in a rock band even though she’s a girl, and it’s silly for men to think that women don’t belong.

Some bands that influence me musically or that I just really like….
Anyone that knows me knows that my favorite band is RUSH. I have been a fan of theirs for only two years but I really love their music. I saw them live for the first time this past summer and I can say that is the greatest show I have ever seen.
The Smiths: Morrissey has some great lyrics, his outlook on life is a little bleak, but put to great pop songs it’s fun to sing along to.
The Dismemberment Plan: This is one great band, they will remind you of so many things but will sound like nothing that is in your cd collection.
Sense Field: They are probably one of the most under appreciated bands that are around today. I actually got to run their merch table once. Check them out.
Jeff Buckley: Great singer, great guitar player, great music. It’s a shame he is not living anymore.
The Roots: The best hip hop band ( yes they are an actual band).
In Flames: You’ll never hear heavy metal that is catchier.
Bjork: A recent favorite, she is one of the most distinct artists around.

Some other favorites include: The Pixies, Starflyer 59, mewithoutYou, John Vanderslice, Sunny Day Real Estate, Texas is the Reason, The Prayer Chain, Pedro the Lion, Jimmy Eat World…. Well the list could go on, I think I’m forgetting some but hooray for updates right?

This is the equipment that I use and I’m pretty happy with this setup:
Axe: 1975 Fender Jazz reissue ( Fender makes the best bass)
Amp: Gallien Krueger 400RBI ( I love the punchy sound I get out of it)
Speaker Cabinet: Sunn 410
Effects: Boss SYB-3 Synth pedal, Boss CEB-3 Chorus pedal, and an Electro Harmonix Bassballs Envelope filter

Other Interests: I do like other things.
Favorite Sports Teams: Buffalo Bills and The Portland Trailblazers
Favorite TV Shows: The X-Files, The Simpsons, Seinfeld, Friends, Conan O’Brien and Craig Kilborn.
Favorite Movies: Run Lola Run, The Royal Tennenbuams, The X-Files Movie, Office Space, Sweet and Lowdown, Gattaca, and many others but I don’t want to think about it anymore…

Well that’s enough for now. Thanks for stopping by, if you want to drop me a line email me here. Have fun and tell all your friends about us.
